C-A-M-P

Alrighty guys, I’m leaving for camp tomorrow morning. I’ll be back Saturday (just in time for the Reel Big Fish concert, score!). I went to the doctor today, it’s not broken, but I have to wear a stupid brace. So now I’m stuck with Arts & Crafts Hut duty. Grr.

Don’t forget to send me lots of letters and packages to:

Lanni II: Feed Me!

I went to my team’s doubleheader today, and sat on the sidelines. I almost freakin’ died out there, it was so hot. Luckily, a breeze picked up about 2 hours in. And I just had to bring the most uncomfortable chair in my entire household. We lost the first game, won the second. Pizza and pop afterwards, so sitting there for 4 hours was worth it. The season is over now, I’m not sure if I’m glad or sad. But as we all know, Don’t get mad, get Glad! Which is not relevant to any of this, but…

I’m going to camp on Tuesday! I am SO pysched!

Like it’s 1999!

David Morrith’s graduation party today. It wasn’t that boring. I played Frisbee with Liz. Yeah. I refused to go swimming so Liz was mad because she wanted to go, but being the dorkazoid that she is, wouldn’t. Later she gave in and decided to go home and get her suit. 20 minutes later she came back, with Kate in tow! Turns out Kate was hanging at my house because she thought the party ended at 5. So Kate came to the party. My mom was nice and packed a pair of boy’s shorts, a hockey jersey, and my swim cap. She knows why I don’t like swimming. It’s the swimming suits. And getting my hair wet. I love my mom! So I went swimming, which felt great ’cause it was freaking hot out! Later we had cake.

I gave in and my mom’s getting me a doctor’s appointment tomorrow.

this template was originally a custom i did for a girl named kioko-chan. she wanted something punky, and she suggested pink and black and a guitar. i did just that. this template does not use titles because she did not use them, but they can be easily added. i really like this template, i have a thing for checkerboard designs.

simplicity

yay, my first template without images! i never imagined how hard it would be. the coding was easy, thinking up something to do was the hard part. i fiddled around with a lot of things before i came up with this one. i decided that using a dingbats font would be nice so i used those little flowers. the quote is from some guy, i don’t remember his name though. if you don’t like the reddish color i used it can easily be changed. if you need help just ask. no images to upload, lucky you!

Juniors 2007!

Juniors 2007

*phone rings*
Lanni: Hello?
Carly: Hey, this is Carly. Is Alanna home?
Lanni: Yeah, this is her. Er, she. Whatever.
Carly: *says nothing*
Lanni: Yeah.
Carly: Oh, you’re there! It’s the entire student council! *miscellaneous murmurs from other members*
Lanni: Oh, hi guys. What’s up?
Carly: We just wanted to ask you if you could change the website so it says Juniors instead of Sophomores. And maybe change some other stuff. Do whatever you want, go crazy!
Lanni: Uh, okay.
Carly: Bye!

Remember last year when I designed the website for my class? I did it again, obviously. Check it out and tell me if you think it’s nice or not. Thanks guys.

Ouch.

The injury I received yesterday is surely comparable to a permanent charley horse in my knee muscles. I’d like to complain more than that, but I’m fairly certain you don’t want to hear about it. But I do hope my parents don’t make me go to the doctor. Ugh.

Plus two

My last exam was today, woot! It was bio and it was a regents, but I had enough time to do the exam twice, so I think I did all right. School’s officially out! I might go to camp for a few hours tomorrow while Liz is at Six Flags with her class. We’re leaving officially Tuesday morning. I’m super excited.

We won our softball game. In the 6th inning a ball was hit way over my head in center field so I ran back to grab it. As I reached for it I slipped and landed on my back, after hearing my knee make a horrible popping sound. I had the ball in my hands, but I knew I couldn’t get up so I threw it where I estimated my teammate Kristen was. She caught it and we made the play. Coach took me out the 7th inning though, because I was limping. I’m so lame.

Rants

Oh. My. God. The Global Regents was so extremely hard I surely got a C (although I have gotten a C for all my social studies finals and midterms, so this wasn’t unexpected).

I had a dentist appointment today. Why is do the psycho hygienists insist on making conversation with you as they poke around inside your mouth with a pointy stick? They either want to spear your tongue or just make you choke on your own spit. Good new is, no cavities, as usual.

high school ugh

kayak is a palindrome

I heart my kayak. Today Liz and I loaded our kayaks onto the car, grabbed our gear (walkie talkies, whistles, life jackets, and lines), and my mom drove us to the Pittsford Crew boat launch on the Erie Canal. We paddled down the canal and a leisurely pace, for I often had to stop paddling in order to talk to my mom on the walkie talkie (There are some scullers coming up! … The lock is opening! … Stay to the right!). We eventually made it to Schoen Place, tied up the kayaks, and got ice cream. And then it was over. Yay for kayaks!

I have my global regents exam tomorrow. This is the least looked forward to exam (even though English is my least favorite subject) because we have to write not one, but two essays.

boating high school

Awesome game, yo.

Okay, it was the longest game in history (1pm to 4:20pm) and we almost didn’t win, but it was a blast. Bottom of the second: I walked to first, stole second, and rounded third and took home, with a play at the plate and a slide (which gave me a painful abrasion on my leg, it kills). Bottom of the fourth: I struck out, but because of the dropped-third strike rule I ran to steal first and allowed an RBI. Bottom of the seventh (we only play 7): *see below.

*My mom called out the lineup… Allison, Lanni, Rachel. If you’ve seen the three of us bat, you’ll understand the comment I overhead in which my coach whispered to my other coach: “We’re screwed.” Allison got up at bat, but got a fly out. So then it was me. All me. The first pitch… foul. The second pitch… ball. The third pitch… ball. The fourth pitch… strike. And the fifth pitch… ball. I walked to first. I hopped onto the base and the first base coach says to me, “Your knee hurts, right Lanni?”, and he winks, in which I reply, “Oh yes coach, it hurts really bad. I don’t think I can run.” I obviously lied. I lied. I almost never lie. I did it for the team. I am the slowest runner on the team. I was replaced by Allison, who went on to making the winning run. Everyone loves me now.
