happy halloween!

liz and i dressed as the blues brothers for halloween. and then we went to steve’s and accompanied him and his 3 friends (all named steve oddly enough) trick-or-treating. now, lots of people loved the adorable 11-year-olds in their monster costumes, but everyone adored my and liz’s costumes and we got many requests to sing/dance (which we turned down as we hurried away). some just said, “hey, it’s jake and elwood!” or “whoa, the blues brothers!” or simply, “sweet costumes!” in short, i have a ton of candy now, and i got a stomachache.

i got a pumpkin today. pictures later. when i can find a camera. maybe.

me and liz are going as the blues brothers for school. i haven’t worn a costume to school since 5th grade. i’m a bit worried.

lately my parents seem to hate liz and i a lot more than usual. it’s a bit odd.

i really wish it was summer vacation.

i have spent $101 in one week. ONE WEEK. and i didn’t buy anything expensive, i just bought too much. i have a problem. i thought getting rid of my credit card would help, but it just lead me to take more out of my account with my bank card. so i have to get rid of my bank card. i’m not going to have any lunch money, but i don’t want it anyways. i hate money so much. and i spend too much.

i just got back from the mentoring club slash byt field trip to the amazing maize maze. they put me in a group with phil, three 7th grade girls, one quiet 6th grade boy, a bipolar boy and his mother, and becky as the leader, along with her baby. i was the “high school leader”. turns out becky had to leave 10 minutes in, and the bipolar boy and his mother had to leave half way through because he was becoming manic. so i became the new leader and had to deal with phil and a bunch of middle schoolers. we ended up going around in a circle twice, even though we got help from the bridge guy. so finally the third time we asked the tower lady for assistance, and she told us to cut through some of the corn to take a certain path! yes, she told us to cheat. then we found another lady at a concession stand and she told us exactly how to get out. we couldn’t mess that one up, and we didn’t. we were the last group out, one hour and 38 minutes. ugh. later on the bus ride back, the kid next to me complained the whole time about stina and mitch kissing a lot. he seemed very upset. it was quite funny actually.

kate’s coming over soon. we’re going to hang out and later we’re going to some halloween thing.

i gave blood today. corey tagged along. first i got a sticker that said “ALANNA” on it. then i got to read a packet and sign something. then i finally got to go back with one of the people to where i thought they’d take my blood and be done with it. nope, that was just the station for checking blood pressure, temperature, and iron levels. and to top it all off, i got the trainee. she had to do everything twice. she wrote all my information in (address, phone number, etc.) and deleted it by accident and had to start over. by then wendy had shown up. then i got asked a bunch of questions (do you have mad cow disease, are you a prostitute, etc.) and then finally they brought me over to take my blood. wendy came over around the same time so we talked as we donated out blood. afterwards they made me sit down and eat some cookies and drink some juice, even though i had to get to class. then they gave me two more stickers (first time donor and be nice to me, i gave blood today) and a t-shirt plus a pin. i feel really good now, my blood could save 3 lives.

curls and i hung out tonight. she wanted to buy a cheap blue dress for her “devil with the blue dress” costume. we started at goodwill, and found no good blue dresses (although i did find a potUSA cassette and two pairs of sunglasses = $7.53). then we headed off to utter clutter, the best store on the planet! that’s where it happened: curls found the bestest blue dress ever. and she looked fab in it. sarah was working then and she gave curls a nice 50% discount. i just couldn’t not buy anything, so escaped with a captain hat and two pins for $14 even. and she threw in some earrings for free. sarah jane is definitely my favorite. so after our fabulous time in utter clutter, we went to curls’ apartment to drop off her new stuff. then we decided to see a movie…

we saw prime. i have to say, it was fairly funny. there’s this one guy that throws pies in the faces of girls that won’t call him back. and there’s david’s bubbie who he constantly imagines hitting herself with a skillet when he does something she wouldn’t approve of. overall, i liked it. that is, until the ending. i hate the ending. i want to murder the ending. that’s all i have to say in this subject.

mrs. matzky told me today that she googled herself and this here blog came up as the first match. all i can say is: oh my god. her opinion of me probably just went way down. mrs. matzky, if you’re reading this, i’m sorry that i put you through this.

well, it’s actually the lord of catan, but that doesn’t fit with the i am lord voldemort theme, so i can to ditch the “the” and “of”.

i bought settlers of catan! and an expansion pack! woot!

the band that came to my school today (the juliet dagger) was pretty horrible. you could tell that no one really liked them. the applause was very polite and the few people dancing in the front were doing it for laughs (except for an unfortunate sophomore that was apparently obsessed with the band). and kate was crazy with her sarcastic jamming out.

my video teacher agreed to let me miss class on friday to donate blood, thank god. mrs. matzky wouldn’t let me miss pe. yes, she wouldn’t let me miss pe to donate blood. grr.

i really want a navy blue jacket that’s big enough to fit over a hoodie or two and that’s fuzzy on the inside. i’m thinking of stopping over at goodwill sometime this week…

i finished my heat concept map, hooray! i had to redo big parts of it 3 times because i left something out and there was no room to add it in. grr. porta gave me a pass on a “hello my name is” sticker and my english teacher was very confused when she noticed my pass was stuck to my hoodie.

prison break is finally on again! i was so sad without it.

1. my mom says she’d pay half of the olympus camera that i wanted. huzzah! that’s only like $150, the price that i wanted to pay : )

2. my dad made it to rio de janerio fine and dandy, and talked to us online this afternoon. right in front of his hotel is copacabana so he has a really nice view : )

oh. my. gosh. great day. let me start from the beginning, and when i say the beginning, i mean the beginning. i woke up at 5:30am. on a saturday. yeah, i’m telling the truth. i am still amazed that i did it. okay, i did go to bed at 7:30 (with my shoes still on), but i don’t want to talk about that. let’s just say, everything after my happy post yesterday was not so happy. but anyways, i got up really really early. at 6:30 my dad took me to pick up kate at her house because we were going to see the sunrise. obviously to film it. duh. so we got to the school and set up across the street by the jewish center. we ate some breakfast, played some cards, got some footage , etc. but then we noticed something: it was slightly raining. so we acted cool, and waited for a bit. but then it just started raining harder. we didn’t want to leave yet because we were sure sure that the sun was coming up and we didn’t want to miss it. 20 minutes later we’re in my dad’s car driving home, soaked, and sunless. the sun never did come up today…

then at 9:45 we went to brighton rec to volunteer at the kids halloween party. i manned the games the whole time, liz and kate floated between a few activities. the kids were so adorable, as usual. some of them were mad annoying though. but that’s kids for you.

later my mom picked us up and we got some lunch. then we went home and played settlers of catan. and saw my dad off. he left for brazil today and won’t be back for a week! i’m going to miss his witty remarks and overall sense of style… so yes, i’m sad. later we ordered a pizza and played more settlers. and watched the holy grail for the nth time. and then corey came over. and etc. now i’m tired and i want to go to bed. i’ve been up for many many hours.

today was awesome. i got to go to school late (but they were having the evacuation drill as i arrived, so i still had to go to first period even though i had free), i had an easy school day, and when i got home liz and i worked on my movie. and later my family is going out to dinner because it’s my dad’s last night in the usa before he leaves for brazil tomorrow. i don’t know where we’re going, i want my dad to pick since this dinner is for him. but i know i’ll find something to eat where ever he picks : )
