lanni.

college student.
pink hair.
fangirl.

c’mon, go get it!

i’ll do it on saturday, i promise! i’d do it friday, but i have plans, i think. i don’t actually know.

kate came over today. we played settlers of catan and made necklaces. oh yes, and we played super scrabble. no one will ever play with me, so i was very excited. kate only lost by a hundred points, it was sweet. i know this doesn’t sound very nice, but no one has actually ever played with me long enough to allow me to get a hundred points ahead, as liz usually gives up quickly.

i forgot my box of candy today. i arrived at the bus stop and…
kelly: alanna, where’s your box of candy?
lan: oh crap. i left it on the counter!
kelly: go back and get it!
liz: yeah lanni, go get it.
lan: nah, i’ll be late.
eric: you really should. it won’t take very long.
lan: i’m slow.
kelly: c’mon alanna, go get it!
liz: yeah lan, you’ll regret it if you don’t!
lan: really guys, i don’t want to.
eric: you could always wait in front of your house for the bus.
lan: i don’t want to guys! stop pestering me!
liz: JUST GO GET IT!
lan: no.
*bus arrives*

electric avenue

you can wait one more day, can’t you? the photos are up though, so hopefully they’ll hold you over.

school was fine. 8th period i had free, so wendy and i went to regal and saw harry potter again. it’s so wonderful. *squeals*

today it rained. all day. i had to walk the dogs next-door in the rain. afterwards i went to adjust some of my christmas lights (the ones on the light pole) and i got electrocuted. i hate being electrocuted. it’s happened to me twice before (horse fence and electrical outlet). i didn’t even know it was happening until i noticed my hands wouldn’t move and i was rooted to the spot. then my hands hurt for an hour or so. ugh.

lazy

oh wow, i’m beat. i spent all of my free time today putting up christmas lights, forgetting that i wanted to write a post about my trip. i guess you’ll have to wait until tomorrow and deal with hearing about my day…

we picked options today in phys ed. the choices were aerobics (blech), basketball (meh), and weight training (hooray!). i was the only girl to choose weight training, but i didn’t mind. so then i moseyed on down to the weight room. when i got there, there was one boy there. one. elmer. elmer doesn’t like basketball. he didn’t say anything about aerobics, but i think his opinion is fairly obvious. so it was just me and good ol’ elmer. i did cardio, and i had a lot of fun. unfortutely, i’ll probably have to do basketball since it’s pointless to have a teacher for only 2 kids.

phil: lanni, what was the math homework?
lan: i dunno phil, let me check. hmm, looks like toolkits, but i didn’t write when they were due.
phil: lanni! how could you! you are a model student! you need to set a good example for the rest of us! you always write things down! you can not slack off lanni! for the good of mandkind!
lan: uh, okay phil. allison! when are the toolkits due?
allison: friday.
lan: there you go phil.

abby broke my necklace in chorus today. all because wendy and i are going to see harry potter tomorrow after school and abby is mad at me. so when i let her see my necklace, she would give it back so it turned into a tugging fight and the string broke and all the beads went under the risors and so forth, hitting many girls in the eyes.

i wish i were a moleonaire!

HAPPY BIRTDHAY PETE!

GREAT

last show was tonight! the kids were super rowdy in the beginning, but the managed to calm down after awhile (except for ben, who possibly never stopped talking and enjoys giving the stage crew people high fives). nothing major went wrong for a change and i actually had a pretty fun time. afterwards i helped take apart the scenery and carry all the furniture up the stairs to the hallway. since mrs. shomper said i didn’t have to, she told me she’d double my extra credit. sweet.

kate and i started our own companies yesterday. kate’s was kate and company and mine was lanburg incorperated. today we decided to merge our companies into a new super company: the settlers of katelan! isn’t that GREAT?

harry potter! kate! crap!

HARRY POTTER WAS SO FREAKING GOOD MY LIFE IS COMPLETE. so yes, harry potter and the goblet of fire was possibly the best harry potter movie ever. a 10, 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, whatever you call a perfect movie. harry and ron’s falling out was just as i pictured it, and hermione was quite enjoyable. although there were several things missing that i would have liked in there (more quidditch and more details dealing with the tasks, like in the maze). and the boys were, well, gorgeous.

and now a word from kate again!

okay so tonight I worked at GNPK from 5-8. (as you may or may not know, I sell pizza and pizza accessories) anyway, I was at work when I heard JD and Scott, my managers, arguing over which one of them had to do something. When Samantha Mahon voluenteered I immediatley put down the pizza box I’d been folding and began to chirp that I’d do it. Scott laughed, and said that I could go ahead and answer the phone. That showed Sam. when I picked up some recording told me that “the person trying to reach you is either hard of hearing or deaf” and that I should “stay on the line to speak with an operater”…..oy veigh…..then an operater lady came on and gave me strict instructions that the person calling would type to her, she’d read it to me and when she said either “go ahead” or “update”, indicating that I could talk. I was thuroughly confused as she didn’t really explain it well until about the 4th time. before I knew it the lady was reading me an order for a salad- but in order to add toppings you have to first know the dressing. I was confused and the operator kept yelling at me ’cause I read back the order before she said “update”…..it was very scary. it wouldn’t of been so bad but Scott (he’s the head honcho) kept standing there, laughing at me as I struggled. well, luckily the customer was patient. (did I mention that was my first time taking a phone order?) Then I saved this toddler, who’d wandered off, from falling down the basement stairs. He was very cute and small, and also very bundled up. in fact he had so many layers on I bet if he really did fall he would’ve been alright. I’m not saying I’m a hero or anything, just that I was in the right place at the right time. yep, that’s me…..changing the world one person at a time. it’s late and this isn’t very well written, but thank you for your time- you’ve been a great audience….and tip the wait staff, it’s not a hobby. GOODNIGHT FREE WORLD! (now here’s Lan)

yo. it’s lan. duh. well, i don’t have much else to say. ‘cept today was another show and it went fairly well. kate showed up near the middle(ish) and watched. she missed me during intermission though, when you actually see me (i move some stuff around). tomrrow’s the last show, so for all you brightonians out there, it’s at 7pm at the middle school (tcms) and tickets are like $6 or something. go.

i’m tired

opening night? went okay, i guess. the kids were louder than ever. luckily, pat was there on stage right with me and was pretty good at getting them to be quiet. some of the kids forgot to bring the cards out that said the name of the scene on them, and the directors got pretty ticked off. better luck next time (which is tomorrow).

oh my god! goblet of fire tomorrow! abby, chels, and i are going at 3pm. i hope they aren’t sold out : (

fab = not

ugh. i feel so crappy.

i started a new project in video today. we’re supposed to do a 30-second commercial for a club/sport we’re in, so i chose mentoring club/byt. it was handy because today after school was our meeting. i signed out a camera and got lots of footage of all the kids. it was fun. the kids are so funny.

in phys ed today we played continuous kickball. now, don’t get me wrong, kickball is my favorite sport. but continuous kickball is a game straight from hell. never played? it’s simple. you need two teams, one kickball, and a cone. then there are two lines: one yellow and one red. the kicking team stands behind the yellow line. the first kicker kicks and tries to run around the cone and back without getting out. but it doesn’t end there. the rest of the team has to go around the cone too. once the player in front of you passes the red line, you go, and so on. so you pretty much run in a circle and get beat with a ball for 45 minutes. fab, just fab.
