stop stabbing me!

did i mention we did square dancing in phys. ed. yesterday? it was awful. there are three times as many boys in our class, so the boys got to sub in. the girls didn’t. my first partner couldn’t promenade for banananas. my second parter was terence, a new kid from the city. he was so funny and kept messing up the left-hand-something-or-other. now he talks to me in the halls. he has a really big coat. my third parter was fairly normal, and actually understood everything. man, square dancing is more tiring than you’d think.

we had driver’s ed lecture today. it was so freaking long. a cop came in and talked to us about getting tickets and dwi and et cetera.

during one long period of algebra…
“alanna, why are you starring at the clock?”
“well, i was hoping if i gave it the evil eye long enough, it might stop slacking off and pick up the pace. but alas, it doesn’t appear to be responding.”

midterm scores:
american history: 89
chemistry: 87
algebra II: 85

the american score allows me to keep my low A, huzzah! the chem score (highest in the class) also assists in keeping my A. and the math score, well, it really can’t do anything to my grade. and let me just say, 44% of my math teacher’s students failed the exam. that’s a lot. i seriously dislike him. i really just don’t think i’ve learned much this year. and everyone in my class agrees with me.

driver’s ed today was good, we just practiced tight-ish turns to prepare for city driving. i drive through the city occassionally though, so i’m not worried.

pounds lost last week: 5 lbs.
total pounds lost to date: 15 lbs.

insane in the membrane

well, i’m ready for school tomorrow. it’s going to be nice having a free period every single say. day 1: 3 frees. day 2: 1 free. day 3: 4 frees. day 4: 1 free. day 5: 4 frees. day 6: 1 free. although those 1 free days means i have to eat lunch at 8:45 in the morning, but it’s better than no lunch at all. i guess.

oh, and i get my midterm grades tomorrow. i don’t know i’m i glad or worried. nah, who am i kidding, i’m worried.

my family has purchased an unreasonable amount of vhs tapes in the last 5 days. seriously though, what is with the sudden increase in cheap tapes? i counted ‘em up, we’ve got 16 additional vhs cassettes in our video library now. that’s insane.

riiiiiiight

wow. i did absolutely nothing of importance today. this 4 day weekend is proving to be fairly uneventful. so, this is what happened today:

  • got up at 9:30 am (!)
  • ate a bagel
  • got on my computer and recoded this template to work with the template generator
  • ate some chicken
  • watched some deleted scenes from the 40-year-old virgin with liz
  • tidied up my room and desk
  • drank some blue kool-aid
  • played the sims
  • did the dishes
  • read the new “tv guide”
  • reminisced about my day

and that is all.

wow, it’s been a really long time since i’ve posted a new linkware template! to make up for lost time, here’s one that a lot of people have been asking me to put up.

this was my winning entry to the august 2005 primp my blog challenge. i know, i know, why has it taken me so freaking long to get this template up for grabs? it’s simple: i’m lazy : P so, the theme was ‘vintage’, the image that i chose to use was scanned from a girl scout songbook of my mother’s from 1959. i’m quite fond of this template. i hope you’ll enjoy it too.

click on the thumbnail for a full screen shot.

DOWNLOADS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

and stuff

huzzah! last midterm today. i got there early to copy my video project onto a disk, but my teacher had done it for me, because i’m a very responsible person, he says. afterwards kate, chelp, and i went to rocky mountain for lunch. the actual exam wasn’t that bad, guessed on a few questions, as expected. later i went to flex and then watched something i taped monday. and stuff.

m-terms

the chem midterm was okay. the 50 multiple choice were pretty easy, but the short answers were pretty difficult. i finished with 2 minutes to spare. then i went to my american exam, which was tough. the 100 multiple choice were semi-difficult. but the DBQ was so vague. we didn’t have any scaffolding questions, which are time-consuming, but still very helpful. so we had to anaylze without them, which is harder than i expected. but oddly enough, i finished a half an hour early. then i went to driver’s ed until 6. ay!

algebra is tomorrow. but that’s my best subject, so i’m not worried.

the toe and tests

well, it’s happened again. i broke my toe. the same one i’ve broken twice before. it’s quite blue and swollen, and i’d rather not talk much more about it, for it hurts too much. but let me just say, toe injuries are by far the most painful. it’s not like i can stay off it, i have to walk on it every day.

midterms tomorrow! oh my god! i have chem and then american. ugh. ugh. ugh. luckily, i don’t have to get up until 9. wish me luck!

given: lan has pink hair. chels is friends with lan.
prove: chels is a freak.

(1) pink hair = weird –> theory of society’s general opinions
(2) lan = weird –> substitution of lan for pink hair
(3) weird = freak –> thesaurus’s law
(4) lan = freak –> substitution of lan for weird
(5) lan + chels = friends –> given
(6) freak + freak = friends –> concept of neorelativistic cliques
(7) lan + freak = friends –> substitution of lan for freak
(8) lan + chels = friends –> given

therefore chels is a freak, because she is friends with lan and lan is weird, since she has pink hair.

sundays = lame

sundays are so freaking boring. this morning liz and i watched the meaning of life, then i finished my math review packet, then i drove to taco bell/michael’s/wegmans for chicken quesidillas/styrofoam balls/toothpicks. and that’s really it.

tomorrow is the last day of the quarter! it’s gone by so fast. as for grades, i think i have: an A in american, and A in video, an A in spanish, an A in chem, a B in english, and an A in math. darn english.
