homecoming (is over)

i should write a little homecoming write-up, shouldn’t i?

well, friday was the pep assembly, where they announced the dance and skit winners (seniors took 1st in both). we also partook in some other events including class advisor knock-out, regular knock-out, secretary-treasurer balloon toss, and of course the tug-of-war. if you remember back to last year, i was involved with the tugging, and the winning. our class prevailed once again, easily beating the freshmen and juniors. liz was on the sophomore team, but we didn’t get to face them, so that made me sad.

later that night was the homecoming football game, which i attended for the first time ever. but only to see our float.

our senior float!

football is kinda boring. luckily my friends were able to entertain me with their, uh, talents and such.

oh, and curls came into rochester today and she, liz, and i went to see school for scoundrels. it was a lot funnier than i expected, john heder was perfect. it was a bit predictable, but i still loved it. i’d rent it again, definitely. there were many priceless scenes that included some gems like stealing lobsters, a cliche paintball fight, and a bad experience with an airplane defibrillator. that’s all i’ve got to say.

arctic shatter

i just called the coca-cola company to ask what flavour ‘arctic shatter’ powerade is, and you know what they said? CHERRY PEACH.

i can not believe it. why the heck would they call that ‘artic shatter?’ i’m pretty sure there aren’t many peaches or cherries anywhere near the arctic. how about ‘georgia maraschino’ or something like that?

tradishon!

the pep rally was AMAZING. our dance was extremely long (as per senior tradition) and our skit was pretty lame and not funny at all. but afterwards we got in dine’s car to drive home, and as per tradition, we honked the horn in the parking lot, drove like idiots, and then honked the horn as we passed in front of the school until we got to the next red light. yes, it’s true that we had to turn around to go home, because to get home we actually didn’t have to pass the school, but you know. tradition.

there was also some other mischief occurring, but i probably shouldn’t mention that. though i will say that i am covered in silly string (as is a teacher, but which one i do not know), and my apologies to that junior boy’s mother and his girlfriend. oh, and there was a full moon tonight. actually, strike that one, i don’t want to talk about that ever again.

awesomeness high school

reali-t?

oh snap. i took an econ test today and i actually finished (!) but this also means that the body paragraphs of my essay are illegible. the intro was when i thought i had time to spare. the body paragraphs were when i was rushing to finish my test in time. and the conclusion was when i noticed that i still had five minutes.

tomorrow is the pep rally, so i’m pretty excited about tomorrow. and it’s thursday, so you know what that means. it’s becoming the highlight of my week. in fact, i’m friggin’ living for thursdays now. i use to be just livin’ for the weekend, but things have changed. my priorities lie elsewhere now.

day threes are amazing. i was able to do not just some, but all of my homework during school. amazing.

plus i think i actually finished my lj. i know i’ve said that many times before, but i think i really mean it this time. at least i hope so.

wanna hear something crazy? the mayan calendar ends on 12.21.12, and then restarts itself. that’s a bit creepy. they told us in school that the mayan’s had a super-accurate calendar, so what’s that mean? apocalypse? who knows. speaking of weird calendars, check this out: september 1752 only had 19 days.

actual blogging high school

oh

today after school my mom and i went over to curls’ old apartment and packed all her stuff into the car, since she’s already sleeping in her new apartment in syracuse and she doesn’t have time to do it herself. that took us about an hour, add another hour and a half to get to syracuse (it’s usually an hour but we backtracked in order to avoid the longest traffic jam ever on the thruway). so by the time we took a tour of her new place (which is huge, might i add, and very clean/pretty) and unpacked the car, it had been another hour. and the drive back was yet another hour. so almost 5 hours later at 9:30, we were back in rochester. i just finished all the homework i can do and now i’m going to bed. i was planning on doing it all, but 3 of the assignments are long-term assignments due wednesday and i just can’t start them tonight. this means tomorrow i’m going to have no time for dilly-dallying.

fdvc

i forgot, i never posted much about the fdvc website. well, it’s been up and running for quite some time now. it’s the most professional site i’ve ever done, and the most involved. i threw everything i knew into this site: html, insane css, javascript, embedded videos, php forms, rollover images, css tabs, drop-down menus, et cetera. i’m very proud of being the webmaster of this site. that makes 3 sites that i update now, imaclanni.com, brighton07.com, and fdvc.us.

so anyways, check it out. check everything out. it’s cool.

i really am a dork

Pure Dork
39 % Nerd, 47% Geek, 69% Dork

You scored better than half in Dork, earning you the title of: Pure Dork. Like our friends Napoleon Dynamite & co.

It’s not as though you were some whiz-kid in school. Oh, sure, you probably did okay in some classes, but were probably awful in others. Certainly most people thought you were smarter than you thought yourself to be. And it’s not that you have some overriding passion, like computers or Star Trek that sets you apart for the crowd, though you likely share some interest in some of those sorts of things. You just like to be yourself, and want to express yourself for who you are.

And, really, there’s nothing wrong with that. Being who you are often invites scorn, and so it’s a difficult thing in a world that rewards conformity. Be proud of your dorkiness, for often it’s just another word for individuality. (I’d vote for you!)

Congratulations!

Take the Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test.
