last night i dreamed that i opened the chamber of secrets. except it wasn’t at hogwarts, it was at my own school. it was awesome.

i think i’m going to have to go ahead of schedule for read_hp, because i want to read book 6 at least twice before i read book 7, since i’ve only read it once (shocker, i know).

all right, so today was one of those days when i really didn’t do anything worth blogging about. i attempted a “this day in history” but nothing really exciting happened to me on april 29 in my past posts. and i couldn’t think of any funny quotes. and i didn’t take any photos or anything. i didn’t even go anywhere.

so i thought i’d try something new. instead of me telling you about my day, i want YOU to tell me about YOUR day.

so, i ask you to please leave a comment to this post telling me all about your april 29, 2007. and remember, it’s for the good of mankind. or at least lan’s blog.

today was a productive saturday (not). i got up at a reasonable hour so i could get my hair cut at world hair (i got a graduated bob like i did last time). then i stopped at utter clutter on my way out, but left quickly without buying anything after being hit on and asked out for coffee by a complete stranger.

after arriving home my mom and i went to a tailor shop to get my ball dress customized. you see, i rescued this white/purple/pink/blue striped dress from the goodwill bag that belonged to my mom in the 70s. the trouble was that it had horrific sleeves. and i mean HORRIFIC. they went to my elbows and had a bit of a puff at the top. the guy at the tailor shop looked at the drawing i did of what i wanted it to look like, and then had me try it on. he pinned some stuff and then had me take it off so he could cut off the dreaded sleeves. then i tried it on again, sleeveless. i felt so uncomfortable and naked, but my mom reassured me that tailors are like doctors, so i shut up and dealt with it. after marking some stuff, he gave us a price and we paid and got an estimated finish date of next wednsday.

the rest of the night was spent choffuring liz and her friends around. to the boat house. to dan’s house. to megan’s house. to dan’s house. to our house. to applebee’s. to megan’s house. to rheannan’s house. to dan’s house. to our house.

cue bed.

(1) we had 16 kids at after school today. considering that on thursdays we usually have 36, this was quite nice. we couldn’t play any real gym games (i.e. dodgeball) because we only had 8 kids that went in the gym. instead we played a mini game of soccer, four on four, and some lariche (every man for himself dodgeball). then we had free time, and one of the girls beat the all-time jump rope record (which was currently held by a 4th grader with 474 jumps) by doing 492 jumps. quite amazing.

(4) speaking of photos, this photo of hoover on flickr is probably the most popular photo i’ve taken. 7 people have favorited it, and there are 6 comments. that’s pretty cool. it’s one of my most favorite photos of hoover. i am glad i caught it on camera, sun basking is aways cute.

(5) did you know that you can say ’shit’ on the radio? i was listening to “rocking the suburbs” by ben folds on BER (90.5) and that song has the word in it like 6 times. although they did fade out the f-word, which i appreciated.

(6) THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS IS PERFORMING IN ROCHESTER ON FRIDAY AT THE GERMAN HOUSE.

yesterday my mom and i went to the art show i was talking about the other day. my drawing was there, it got an honorable mention. that was pretty cool. although they did spell my first name wrong on the drawing label, and in the program. it’s two n’s, not one! anyways, check out my drawing by clicking on the thumbnail below.

so my new cell phone is pretty much amazing (although the color is making me sad still). i learned how to text message today, it was exciting. i also figured out how to listen to voicemail, add contacts, take pictures, and mess with the other settings. and i almost have my number memorized. almost.

the brighton spring clean up was canceled today due to rain, so i got home at 3pm for the first time in weeks. totally awesome. and i have mangaged to watch 5 episodes of 30 rock today. i swear, each time i watch that show it gets funnier and funnier.

oh, and my art teacher picked one of my drawings for an art show, which is tomorrow down on south clinton. i think i’ll be going, if i can. my parents have been really busy this quarter, so i don’t think they can go, but we’ll see.

so i guess the big news for today is that i got a cellular telephone. as much as i don’t want it, i know that it’s going to come in handy, especially considering how much i have to borrow other people’s slash use the payphone all the time, due to my family’s need for just one more car. the specs and such are here (take a look at the video on the side, it really does justice for the awesomeness of the phone).

if you know me in real life and would like the number, just ask. my plan is to keep it off at most times unless i need to make a call. i’ll pro’ly check the voicemail a lot, so if you want to talk to me, go ahead and call. i think i will also try this whole text messaging business. the qwerty keyboard should help.

so, after friggin’ news 10 nbc decided to replace the new episode of 30 rock last thursday with a special report about porn in the rochester library, i was a little ticked off. but i was relieved they at least moved it to a later day, that sunday to be exact… at 10 in the morning. so i of course forgot. so what did i just do? i bought the season pass. someone slap me.

so, it seems that i need a notebook computer for college. this extremely saddens me. if you read the archives, you will see that i saved 3 years to buy my imac, and now that i’ve had it for two years, i have to give it to liz. for free. i saved freaking two THOUSAND dollars. down the drain. kind of like my old camera, which i also gave to liz. for free. it doesn’t help that i hate notebooks. those friggin’ keyboards. i’m keeping mine, so i can hook it up via the USB port.

so, in case you wanted to know (but sadly i’m sure you don’t), i’m going to buy a (new? used? don’t know yet) 15 inch macbook pro (geneseo “discount” specs—it’s only sixty bucks cheaper). i could never stand having a silly 13 inch, that’s just too small. my eyes are too squinty for that.

i felt like little susie homemaker today. i made my bed, did two loads of laundry, i sorted my closet, i vacuumed both my room and basement, i made my pizza for dinner, and i spent an eon slicing strawberries for dessert.

then i spent 2 and a half hours on my damn math homework. i didn’t have one homework assignment all week, and then friggin’ honest abbe goes an assigns this packet. grr.

i’d like to thank the weather for being so nice out. i even dragged a chair into the backyard to read harry potter this afternoon. it was nice.

speaking of harry potter, is the new trailer not the best thing since sliced bread? yes, yes, it is.
