eclipse

well, i finished eclipse tonight. i started at 9pm and just finished. IT WAS AMAZING. seriously, this series… i don’t even know how to describe it. i can’t believe how quickly these books have overtaken my life.

my away message this evening was: “last night i read a 500 page book from midnight to six in the morning. tonight my book is 600 pages. and i’m starting at 9.”

and if anyone is wondering, i’m team edward all the way, no doubt about it. i already have a bunch of icons saved in a folder to use. and my desktop wallpaper is totally edward/bella. obsessed? perhaps.

new moon

holy crap, i think i got a little carried away. i have yet to go to bed, and it’s six in the morning! i came home to rochester at 5pm on friday (today) so that i could hang out with stabby, and on the way i bought new moon and eclipse. after stabby and i went to dinner and saw a movie, i got home at midnight and decided to read a bit of new moon. well… i finished. heh heh. this is what i get for taking my watch off. i thought it was three at the latest.

whoops.

OFF5 FANGIRLING

OMFG.
today marks the day that my life was changed forever. the office completely blew my mind, it’s insanity.

i took notes as i watched, so what follows under the cut goes in order. some parts are speculation near the beginning and don’t make sense by the end (you’ll see what i mean!), so read all the way through.

and if it wasn’t obvious, SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

twilight

do you know how it feels to finish a 500 page book in one sitting? good. it feels good.

i read a book i bought at barnes and noble called twilight (wikipedia link). i skimmed the description on the back and stuck it in the stack i had already accumulated.

About three things I was absolutely positive.

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him— and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be— that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

it’s taken me awhile to get to it, but i’m glad i thought to bring it to geneseo with me—it was AMAZING. it’s definitely a girl book, it’s a vampire romance novel. it was on the new york times bestseller list and it’s been called the new harry potter series (not because of the magical realism elements, but because it’s pleasantly addictive). i seriously couldn’t put it down. it was suspensful and heartbreaking and gripping and terrifying and utterly and totally romantic. that’s a good kind of book.

and i just found out there are two books that come after it, new moon and eclipse. must. have. now.

weggie’s always wins

my parents and i went to tops today to buy kool-aid for me to bring back to my dorm. now, i’m very particular about my kool-aid. it has to be the kind in pouches, and it has to be fruit punch flavor, and it has to be the 10-calorie kind. they had every kind but that. so then i thought i’d buy some buffalo-wing flavor goldfish while i was there. and once again, every kind but. i threw my hands up in surrender and decided i’d just buy a dr pepper to drink on the way back. and guess what? tops no longer sells dr pepper in their coolers!

this would have never happened to me if we had just went to wegmans. i love wegmans so much. it’s pretty much superior in every single way.

sic

well, five weeks into my college career and i’m finally sick! last night i felt crappy and this morning i felt worse. unfortunately, the bus to wegmans starts at 12:39, so when i got up at 8, i had like 5 hours to kill. 5 hours of not breathing. luckily we have a freezer full of popsicles, so those helped my throat.

and since my roommate is at a softball game (well, three games) in syracuse and my friends all went home for the weekend, i was stuck here by myself. after i went to wegmans (dayquil/nyquil, cereal, dr pepper, teal duct tape, and yet i forgot the all-important box of kleenex), i spent a few hours makin’ stuff (necklaces, bracelets, a duct tape wallet, and earrings). then i watched shaun of the dead. and that is what i did today.

goo goo g’ joob

in theatre class today, instead of taking notes, we watched an improv performance. it was awesome, our teacher got all ready to start her lecture when all the sudden the door burst open at the back of the auditorium (there are 300 students in our class) in in dances a guy with a suit and sunglasses on carrying a boombox playing really loud music. everyone turned around in awe as he just danced there, shouting and giving the people in the back high-fives. we thought it was a big prank (our teacher is a good actress, she looked horrified), but soon 6 more boys came in and they filed down the aisles to the front. their show was amazing, i haven’t laughed that hard in awhile. i love improv.

i went back to the roc tonight to buy some new jeans (lol) and some crafty stuff. i got two pairs of levi 515s, beads, ribbon, charms, chain, stickers, et al. good haul.

selling stuff

i found this really cool website called etsty. it’s pretty much like a ebay-type marketplace for stuff you make. i bought two scrabble rings and a pair of lego earrings.

i was thinking about opening up my own store. the thing is, you need a credit or debit card to do it, since they take 3 cents on every dollar you earn (but that’s totally worth it). i applied for a credit card and a debit card from my bank, but i have absolutely no idea when they’ll be coming. hopefully soon, because i’ve already started making new stuff. so far i’ve made four large plastic bead necklaces, two safety pin and glass bead necklaces, two large plastic bead bracelets, and four artsy buttons. and that’s just the stuff i made today! if i can sell all that i’d make about 100 bucks after they take their 3%. i think this is a cool idea.
