polaroid

wow, so got so excited about buying myself a polaroid camera on ebay for cheap, and then i just looked at how much film costs. ten bucks for ten exposures? ch’yeah right.

anyone know where i can buy lots of cheap polaroid 600 film for a project i’m embarking on?

P.S. i opened a cafepress shop to sell one very specific sticker. if you need help remembering, i’ll refer you to this post. note that the old stickers were 2×6, and these are 3×10!

P.P.S. is it crazy that i’d actually consider purchasing a ball chair if i had a job and eight hundred dollars to spare?

that was easy

i now have a heavy duty stapler that will staple 40+ pages (a regular staples 20) & an extra large printer ink cartridge that will print 750 pages (a regular prints 200).

i suppose i could now open a small printing and binding business out of my dorm room. but i think i’ll stick to assembling my super secret handbook. i will be posting more about that in the coming weeks.

mmm shelves

so instead of taking good notes today in chem, i instead thought it would be a good time to draw pictures of potential shelving situations for behind my door in my room at home.

the best one showcased some rounded corner shelves, going all the way up the wall. but i never really considered how they work slash how to install them. i would prefer something similar to the shelves i have now, with brackets on the wall and such, but everywhere i looked online sold single shelves like that for like fifteen bucks. pshw, yeah right. i did find this shelving unit for $44.95, but since i’d be stacking like three of them on top of each other, that would be quite pricey. plus they’re not white shelves anyway, which is my ideal. i also found this, which is getting a bit closer, but i don’t know if they’re stackable or not.

got to quit daydreaming about shelves when i could be doing better things.

ETA: thinking about shelves got me thinking about beds that would eliminate the need for said shelves. ideally, i’d prefer a bed that has a lot of storage underneath, like this bed. it’s labeled as a kids bed though. what’s the difference? well anyway, i found this bed too, which is conveniently not a kids bed. but it’s inconveniently five billion dollars.

gah, must get out of la-la land.

vegetarians rock

when i was a kid i thought that vegetarians eat rocks. my reasoning? they don’t eat anything that was alive, so they can’t eat animals, and they can’t eat plants. that only leaves rocks. tasty, tasty rocks.

6 months ago, in history

sruthi: what the hell slash HOW the hell do i pack? im SOOO excited we’re like almost neighbors i can’t wait to see you!

lanni: i dunno, man. i’ve been just throwing things i find myself using into a box, because odds are if i use it today, i’ll need it in college, right? but all seven of the harry potter books seem to make a box VERY HEAVY.

sruthi: haha do you “use” all 7 on a daily basis?

lanni: hells yes i do. not really. but what if the occasion presents itself? everyone else will be like, damn, i left my harry potter books at home because they’re huge and heavy, and i’ll be like, aha! i win!

OH

when will people start to understand that i may be a pink haired college freshman, but i’m full of trivial information, and i’m always right? lol.

“hey lan, what does ISS stand for?”
“international space station.”
“haha. but really, what does it stand for?”

“yo lanno, would you like to do a waltz with me? one two three four one two three four.”
“a waltz goes one two three one two three. it’s in 3/4 time.”
“i think i would know, since i’m the one that has done a waltz before.”

“geez lanni, why’d you pick the table with an influx of chairs?”
“are you using the word ‘influx’ in the right context? i thought it meant ‘incoming’ or something.”
“nah, it means ‘many.’”
“are you sure? the prefix is ‘in.’”
“i’m really good with vocabulary, so yes, i’m sure.”

“lan, why do you have a bottle of ibuprofen and a bottle of acetaminophen? they’re the same thing.”
“no, they’re most definitely not.”
“yes, they are. we learned about it in chem.”

i could go on, but i think i’m kind of starting to sound like an asshole. now would be a good time to mention that there is a whole lot of stuff i don’t know that most people do. like how long to set the microwave, etc.

can’t fight an eclipse

lyndsey from work wrote this on my wall yesterday after i asked her how february break camp was going: “summer and roman today were like why isn’t lanni here? lanni should be here, she’s fun!” aw. i miss brighton rec!

i got all my exam scores back (at least the ones i took):

CHEM 103: 85
CALC II: 80
PSYCH 215: 86

so yeah, that 80 is the lowest math exam score i’ve gotten in a few years. ugh, i’m not going to do well this semester, in any classes it seems. damn.

oh, and the cullen family has been cast for the twilight movie. what do you twilight fans think? personally, emmett isn’t as bulky as i had imagined, and jasper is bit shorter than i’d thought. otherwise i think they look great!

for the record, i did not set off the smoke detector (yet). and yes, the room is still kind of full of smoke, and yes, all the fans are running on high, and yes, the window is open.

welcome to college.

o icosahedron

i decided i’d ask my magic eight ball icosahedron how i did on the myriad of tests i had this week.

to be specific, the question i asked for each was: “did i do well on my ________ exam?”

CHEM 103: “DON’T COUNT ON IT”

CALC II: “YES”

PSYCH 215: “MOST LIKELY”

MATH 140: “BETTER NOT TELL YOU NOW”

i think the answers are all incorrect, save the last one (because i haven’t actually taken the test yet… lol). i’ll report the icosahedron’s accuracy when i get all my grades in.

stwpt

the songs to wear pants to website is finally done and launched!

this website is officially the most time-consuming project i’ve taken on. haha, actually, andrew contacted me in august and we started in september. but i really didn’t do much work until january, it was just countless mockups before that.

what i did:
- made the graphics
- made infinity mockups
- made a barebones layout mockup
- installed wordpress
- coded the template
- recoded the template
- set up the forum
- redid the graphics
- recoded the template

so it’s been a pretty crazy time. but i think it turned out well. yay!

happy valentine’s day!

okay, i was wondering if someone could do me a super huge favor. you see, i’ve collected quite a list of sendspace links that i really really want to download, but i can’t. so could someone download them and then upload them on megaupload instead? it’s pretty much the same site, but it isn’t blocked by my school.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/hg6t8r
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ahd8hg
http://www.sendspace.com/file/321qjz

there are more, obviously, but the links are non-sharable.

oh, and you will be compensated with music (take your pick!).
