posted this on ourbedrooms, saucydwellings, and iheartmyroom, so i thought i’d post it over here too : )
i currently don’t live at home, i’m living in a dorm at my college (SUNY geneseo). but i came home over spring break and decided i’d spruce up my room a bit.
these photos are very selective, because there are areas of the room i haven’t finished yet that i plan on working on over the summer when i’m home again. enjoy, and let me know what you think!
i apologize in advance for the photo quality. i took these at different times of the day, and it shows.

books. my favorites are all at school (harry potter series, twlight series, hitchhiker’s guide trilogy, and some dan brown novels).

my cd’s. lol, please do not make fun of how little i have — i’m more of an itunes music store person. i have three times as many cd’s on my hard drive, i swear : )

i drew that dude on my chalkboard a few days ago. his name is bow tie man. i did not name him, some of my kids where i work did when i drew him once there.

i put this hanger up to display my sunglasses. i have several more pairs, but most of them are at school currently.

rubik’s cubes! yes, i can do them. my best time is 58 seconds, but i average 1 minute 10 seconds.

my desk. it’s in the closet. (therefore i have no place to put my clothes, so i have a cube shelving unit behind my door.) there sits my macbook (used to have an imac, but laptops were required for college, so i gave it to my sister), my rotary phone, and my alien and dinosaur collection.

said alien and dinosaur collection.

said rotary phone. rewired it myself : )

pez! i used to collect pez when i was in 10th grade. my parents put these little shelves up so i could display them.

door. i had to cover it with wrapping paper, because my stupid sister painted her name all over it.

view through the mirror on the other side of the door.

that’s me!
thanks for reading : )
cool way to show off your sunglasses. and i love your desk area!
how did you get the chalkboard in there? is it an entire wall or just a part of one wall?
very cool room! :)
Its amazing where you can paint with CHALKBOARD paint! Inside the closet is also magnet black.
Arent the CD rack clips mine too….
thanks! yeah, as my mom said above, my sister painted the part of one wall with chalkboard paint. and the other part of the wall, in the closet, is magnetic paint : )
can you please do my room!? gorgeous.
haha, thank you!
ah! your room is sweet! i might post some of mine when i get the chance.
and did you even have a problem with your footer being placed in the right spot? my footer.php always goes right to the top of the page, even if i put it in a container and it’s driving me slowly insane.
thank you!
footers are pretty simple once you figure out how to fit the divs together correctly. feel free to email me and i can take a look if you want.
I feel like your signature pink/green and neon colors makes everything look so awesome! All of these creative endeavors of yours always are so trendy :)
aw, thanks!
i love your room!
when i saw the first picture i was really concerned because of the books that are on a shelf… RIGHT ABOVE YOUR HEAD!
…then i realized you didn’t live in california, so the whole earthquake thing isn’t really an issue. so now, i’m just mildly embarrassed about it. :)
haha, i never even considered that they might fall on me. lol. but yeah, no earthquakes here!
Your room is 10 types of awesome.
thank you : )
Lanni, your room is everything that I want–colorful and full of pop culture with touches of childhood.
And I like bow tie man.
P.S. “the claw is our master”
P.P.S. Please make sure that Rex has a moving buddy when you move.
thank you!
moving buddies! omg i want to watch that movie right now! can you tell who my favorite character is? hehe : )
Hee! Breakfast Club poster! \o/
my bff gave it to me for christmas : )
I saw your post in saucydwellings, and LOVE your room! I’m also atheist, straight, liberal, and non-smoker/non-drinker. Mind if I add you? Gina
go right ahead : )
and thanks!
Lan, I found your speakers today

haha, it’s a bit late now!
I think you need to move on to get more complicated Rubik’s. Say a 4X4 like mine…
haha, yeah right! it would take me forever to remember all that, and i don’t want to get the 4×4 rules messed up with my 3×3 rules!
actually its mostly the same except for solving the middles and final corners. I wouldn’t want to speed cube it just b/c the mechanics of the cube itself are alot less sturdy than the 3X3’s.
well then you will have to teach me some time!
Yeah, remember that day when we were using the youtube video to solve the middles and it was sooo confusing…lets hope we do better next time.
that thing was so frustrating! how did you end up learning?
just time and trial and error. its not that bad once you get your head wrapped around it. it takes me like 5 minutes to get it done.
have you gotten any faster on the 3×3?
