new jobi work for the brighton central school district now! for those who don’t know, that’s the school district that i went to for my whole K-12 education. i’m a substitute paraprofessional. basically i fill in for anyone that’s out (besides teachers). andy from brighton rec recommended it to me, and i’m really excited to start. the substitute caller calls me around 6am when they need me, and i either go to council rock primary school (aka CRPS) or french road elementary school (aka FRES). so far i have gotten one call, but it was canceled an hour later. that kind of sucked, but the caller promised she’d put me at the top of the list for next time. and yes, it’s only for a month until school lets out. but i’d be on the list to work any day of any break that i have off next year at geneseo. plus i’m now on the payroll for the school district that i’d eventually like to work at when i get my education degree. and for now they’re okay with my pink hair : ) |

awesome!! that sounds really sweet. congratulations!!
they better be okay with your awesome pink hair lol.
and it can only benefit you in the future, if you plan on working with them :)
thanks. and yeah, i’m really just doing this so i can be involved in the school district early on : )
i agree, you have to keep your pink hair as long as possible.
i was hoping that if they hire me now, and i go to apply for a teaching position, they’ll be like, oh, it’s just lanni. we don’t need to tell her about any dress codes because she’s been working here for 4 years. or something.
I’ve seen some of getups the teachers have worn over the years, some of them are right out of the 60’s…pink hair is the least of the admins problem….
haha, i’d hope so.
Felt good didn’t it!
Back in the old stompping grounds.
Cool you got to “work” in Mrs.M’s room.
There is one other person you need to see this month, when you have the time. Your old Bri Rec Art instructor.
Your on your way to ….kiddie land!!!!!!
You know there are people I have worked with that walked out of the job after 1 day…they could not deal with real people, kids, others telling them what to do.
yep yep yep!
