the dark knight

spoiler alert!

SO YEAH OMFG ASDFJKL; FTW !!!!!!

basically, this is the best movie of the summer. no, the year. it’s so dark and sad and heartbreaking and batman totally kicks butt.

batman was always my favorite super hero as a kid (i watched the cartoon religiously on saturday mornings). i think it’s because bruce wayne chose to become a hero, unlike most that really have no choice (superman, spiderman, the x-men, et cetera). i also adore him because of his “rules,” as the joker called bruce’s respect for life. every time he saves a bad guy from death and hands them over to the police, my heart sighs. he’s such a good guy. i seriously love him.

but yeah, the movie totally rocks. it was pretty effing violent, but i was able to keep my eyes open for most of the fight scenes. oh my god, when rachel and harvey were about to die, and bruce went to save rachel and accidently saved/doomed harvey, i seriously almost cried. not because i liked rachel (i’m impartial), but because i kept imagining how bruce must have felt when he opened up that door and found harvey.

yeah, the acting in this movie was AMAZING. christian bale is probably the best batman yet (i still love you, michael keaton!), and we all know already that heath ledger pretty much made this movie what it is. he made the joker into one of the scariest, evilest, and most heartless villains of all time, i think. plus he was funny. oh my god the nurse scene killed me. no pun intended.

um, what else? well, i really did cry during this movie. right at the end, after gordon smashed the bat signal and the police started to chase batman. i think it’s due to knowing that everyone in gotham city is going to think that batman is the bad guy. poor bruce! … i just realized that i irrationally care about how a fictional character feels. uh, yeah. i’m insane.

I WILL SEE THIS MOVIE AGAIN. SOON.

sorry lanni , I saw this with your cousins in Denver and was bored to tears, heath ledger was great but the rest was tiresome to say the least , they could have cut 1/2 of the fight and chases scenes and not lost a thing , also I cared so little for the love interest that not only did I not care at the end, but I felt like punching her in the face. and the batman voice , oh my god come on, the commissioner looked like he belonged in beasties boy video of sabotage. and whats the deal with the joker because he’s crazy he is indestructible ? all he has to do is slick back his hair and he’s right as rain , I think not. IRON MAN WAS BETTER , LIVE WITH THAT

i agree with one thing you said here. and batman’s voice was so annoying and it didn’t seem to fit batman that well.

well we all have our own opinions. different movies appeal to different people. i’m not going to try to convince you you’re wrong, that’s silly.

but i do agree that the voice was unexpected. but i kind of liked it.
