roc citytoday was spent at four of the roc city’s finest hangouts: (1) world hair. i got a haircut, obvs. (2) utter clutter. your basic thrift shop, but messier. it’s owned by a lady named sara that likes to give free stuff to you on your birthday if you make friends with her. and i do advise that you do, because she’s been known to overcharge rude people and undercharge people she likes : ) (3) aaron’s alley. a hippie shop that sells… hippie stuff. i got a new tie-dye, liz got new hemp bracelets. i actually spent most of the time on the floor looking through boxes of tie-dye and then i spent even more time refolding the shirts. someone actually thought i worked there. (4) record archive. everyone knows this is my favorite hangout of all hangouts. just this week i’ve been there twice and i’ve bought nine new albums. today they were filming their new tv commerical, and they taped liz and i singing the record archive jingle and laughing our heads off. it was a good time. TWO MORE DAYS ‘TIL GENESEO! |

omg next time im home i need 2 look for yall in the commercial!
just because they filmed us doesn’t mean we’ll be in it… but it would be totally awesome if we are : )
I totally was the one who said that you looked like an employee. loser
no you didn’t! some lady did, and then i told you that i look like an employee and you said yes. get your story straight loser.
A CAT HAMMOCK who would have thought. I know Sara will use that when customers ask her what is it………….. :)
haha i can’t believe that i guessed right, and won a dollar. that was the first time i went to utter clutter and made money, as opposed to spending it : )
UTTA CLUTTA! Sara is my favourite person in the world. i talked about franklin d. roosevelt and what would have happened if there were a leftist revolution after world war two in the united states the last time i was there. and she also sold me the prettiest dress in the entire world for about ten dollars, even though it was from 1963 and probably worth a good deal more. XD she’s just wonderful. \o/
sounds like you hit all the best places in rochester except perhaps the bop shop and primitive at village gate, but even then they’re for specific wants.
:)
she’s pretty much the best! when i was there yesterday, she said she just got the craziest thing ever, and if anyone could guess what it was she’d give them a dollar. she held it up, i said “cat hammock,” and she went to the register and got me a dollar. hahaha.
village gate is a pretty cool place, although i prefer the archive and lakeshore over the bop shop, as i don’t have a record player, and i get my stuff done at ultimate. but it’s a whole different atmosphere there, which is cool : )
I like the Little theatre and Spot Coffee on East Ave as good haunts.
of course!
if we’re now listing places to hang out in rochester, here’s my more complete list of places i’m always up for:
- record archive
- lakeshore records
- house of guitars
- utter clutter
- aaron’s alley
- parkleigh
- wegmans
- waterstreet music hall
- the armory
- world hair
- javas coffee
- spot coffee
- the little
- the cinema
Haha! You didn’t mention Park Ave, specifically Spin Coffee.
In any case, speaking of Rochachacha, I am coming in to town on Sunday to visit Sam in the Strong (not such a great place to hang out). I know you will most likely be in Geneseo at the time I stop in but I wanted to let your family know and rather than call them at this time of night this is the best way to do that.
We could also start listing festivals that are great in the city of Rochester.
Clothesline, park Ave, East End, etc etc.
yes yes yes.
say hi to sam for me : )
