twilight!

just got back from twilight, and it’s 3:16am. it basically rocked, but let’s continue this conversation later, mkay? i have an early class tomorrow morning.

ETA: okay, it’s 5:00pm friday, time for my thoughts on the movie!

- this goes without saying, but the book is five billion times better than the movie. and i feel that if you didn’t read the book, the movie would be less awesome. they cut so friggin’ much. but that was expected.
- I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE TEN MILLION BABIES WITH R PATTZ, PLZ.
- speaking of edward, WTF was with the biology room scene? it was so terrible, i couldn’t stop from laughing. well, the whole theater couldn’t keep from laughing.
- there totally wasn’t enough making out in this movie. we got like two kisses, and while both were fantastic (the first especially!), that’s just not enough.
- charlie was perfect! omg, when he cocked his shotgun after telling bella to bring edward in, i almost died. and the pepper spray! perfect.
- haha, mike newton was perfect too. excellent comic relief. where is that actor from? i want to say joan of arcadia. hmm.
- kristin stewart made a pretty decent bella. i wasn’t sure at first, but i think she did a great job! (although that scene when she’s telling him not to go was a bit ridiculous).
- not cool with the tree climbing stunts. lame. and weird.
- the ballet studio scene was pretty tops. although there was one thing that bothered me — i didn’t like how carlise had to tell edward to stop. in my head i always saw him being really strong and doing it himself, out of love. that would be better, i have to say.
- jacob was… fine. he’s in the movie a lot more than in the book. speaking of jacob, i actually saw girls wearing “TEAM JACOB” t-shirts. WTH? have you not read breaking dawn?
- loved loved loved the port angeles rescue and dinner. that’s one of my favorite scenes in the book, and it turned out well in the movie, thank god.
- the cullens! so perfect. again, i wasn’t sure about the casting at first, but i loved them! haha especially jasper. and emmett. and alice. and everyone! yay.

as for the movie-going experience in general, i drove myself and lindsey, lauren, and lauren’s bf sean to regal and arrived at the theater at 11:00pm. we stood in line (inside, because the theater is huge and has plenty of space inside for hundreds of rabid fangirls) for about 45 minutes and got let into the theater at 11:45pm. the movie let out around 2:15am, and i arrived back in geneseo around 3:00am. and that is the story of my twilight experience : )

hey i saw it too. not at midnight but at a Friday screening.

I agree with you not as good as the book. its like the reader’s digest version of the book

speaking of the other Cullen’s though, Jasper, aka Jackson Rathbone, OMG so fine! when his face was in profile walking in to the cafeteria with the other Cullens I thought it was Edward for a minute there and my heart almost stopped. he has these cheekbones that were there but not there. and cute curly hair.

I think overall it was a cheesy movie but it was good enough to cover what the book needed it to do. They will totally make another one if the box office holds on and considering there is an estimate at 35.7 mil for friday’s take it will make back what it took to make it.

okay, seriously agree with everything you said. a “reader’s digest version of the book” is a really great way to put it!

jasper! sooooooo good looking. and i loved his hair the most out of all the characters!

and summit is officially working on new moon!

11.23.08 at 7:56 PM

yeah it was condensed like a can of campbell’s soup.

I liked Rosalie’s hair and the Alice’s too but not for myself just the spikiness is too high maintenance

Yay for New Moon, I gotta start reading…

Aside, Jon and I just bought a GPS unit for the car/geocaching and started using it today. Didn’t find anything though, Its a work in progress.

11.23.08 at 10:21 PM

when are you visiting rochester again? maybe we can fit in some geocaching before we get too much snow.

11.24.08 at 5:48 PM

i dont know when i am visiting rocha-cha-cha b/c i start my new job next monday and then i am going away for it for like a week.

also i went geocaching today in the neighborhood and it was disappointing so jon and i are going to exchange it for a handheld geocache specific gps machine. its his b-day present from me anyway so its really his choice. i had some trouble with the snow buildup today.

well let me know when you’ll be back then.

definitely try a handheld GPS, it’s so much easier : )

11.24.08 at 9:04 PM

i didn’t read the books, but i saw it friday night at the 11:00 time, since i work at the theatre and that’s when i got off of work.

i heard the book was waaaaaay better, though, as you have said. lol.

11.23.08 at 2:53 PM

you work at a movie theater? awesome! i’ve always wanted to do that — i could really use an employee discount.

i can go to movies free whenever i want and so can my brother and mom and dad. that’s our discount.

11.27.08 at 1:14 AM

what do you do in the theater?

Christian
11.27.08 at 5:28 PM

i sell tickets, or sell food at concession, but sometimes i usher, which is cleaning theatres. lol. but i sell tickets the most.

11.27.08 at 6:39 PM

I just want you to know that, a week after seeing Twilight, and after officially calming down, I’m rereading your comments, and I’m just going, “Oh my God, we had the exact same thoughts.”

The biology room scene was not good. He looked disgusted by her. That won’t do. And the whole, “No. No. No. No! You can’t leave,” was really bad.

All in all, a good movie for fans. Not so much anyone else.
