jobs are for squares

um, so yeah. the boys plus my mom plus numerous uncles and aunts all went to see the musical comedy at the brighton park tonight, at which i took donations and handed out flyers whilst wearing an orange vest and an apron, because i work for the town. it’s a pretty easy job, i just stand at the gate and say: “hi, are you here for the concert tonight?” if yes, i continue with, “would you like to make a two dollar parking donation?” then i follow up with, “have a nice time!” well, usually. sometimes people blow past me without stopping. some roll down their windows, discover the two dollars is only a donation, and roll their window back up. but whatevs, it pays the bills. not really, i don’t pay bills.

i’m really sad that my cousins are leaving on friday! i got to spend about an hour with them because people stopped parking after awhile, but we couldn’t talk, since we were watching a play and all. but we did get a good amount of poking and prodding done, plus afterwards we went on the playground in the dark, and i tripped and fell on my face while trying to get my whistle back from drew. good times.

awesome

today after work the boys and i went to seabreeze amusement park. we went on the water rides first (my first time on them since two summers ago), and then the regular rides. i think we managed to ride them all (or at least i did, stevie and jordan weren’t up for the ones that went upside down). it was pretty friggin’ fun. we went on the bumper cars like 6 times, the twirly roller coaster three times, the spring tower thing three times, and the wooden roller coaster four times. we’re pretty much amazing.

stevie wanted me to write in my blog that he is awesome. and ben said to write that he was awesomer than steven. and drew wanted me to write that he was the awesomest, period. trish said i can put jordan down for “moderately awesome.” so, ranked in order of awesomest, my cousins go as follows:
1. drew
2. ben
3. steve
4. jordan

just in case you were wondering.

i’d die too

today i went to the gym. whoa, i know! amazing, eh? i went with liz, as she has been trying to get me to go with her for awhile. ever since i’ve been doing weight training in P.E., i’ve wanted to do it. it’s fun, except for running of course. my mom’s going to get me a membership. it’ll be cool.

the mole car!i finished my mole car today. it was so wonderful and worked flawlessly. then i went to spray paint it goldish brown, and you know what happens? the styrofoam dissolves! my car turned into mush. i was so upset! so i started all over, and finished. it’s pretty sweet, although it’s not very fast and obviously won’t win the mole 500. but whatevs, i still get 5 points.

last night i dreamed that on christmas morning, i opened up a small box, and inside was a set of car keys! i was so excited, and then my parents died. which leads me to believe that if my parents ever give me a car, they will die. which is fairly depressing. but on the bright side, i’ll have a car! JUST KIDDING MOM AND DAD. oh, and then i drove it to school and kate was where the principal usually stands on the sidewalk, and she was breakdancing.

and last but not least, a photo of my cousins. i miss them so much!

the boys ben (14) and drew (12) holding jordan (9). they’re 3 out of 4 of my blood-cousins, and they live in colorado, so i only see them during the summer when they visit/ we visit. they are adorable and i love them muchies : )

We’re cool (NO YOU’RE NOT)

The boys left today. I’m sad. My mom and I went over today to get together one last time before they left. They decided they wanted to go swimming, and they wouldn’t go without me. So I jumped in. Which wasn’t the smartest idea, for I was very wet when I got out. And cold. So when it was time to say goodbye, I got to give them all big WET hugs. And I got one last camel bite from Drew, which left a little bruise. But it in no way compares with the one I got from “the treatment”, for that one stretches from my shoulder to my elbow. Fun stuff.

cousins family sad face

Yeah baby.

31 more days! (Until my birthday, duh). But I can’t get my permit ’til two days after on Monday, since the DMV isn’t open on Saturdays.

Hung out with the boys again. This time at Ray and Jean’s house. We play bocce and climbed trees (well, I didn’t climb the tree, but I supervised…). Later we went to Henrietta and watched Ray, Tom, and Bill play volleyball. They lost. Horribly. I blame the beer.

I (finally) got a new TMNT watch. It lights up. ‘Tis awesome.

Leave

Went to Seabreeze today with the boys. ‘Twas fun. Bill and Trish spent a half an hour talking to me about college. Seems that that’s all adults want to talk to me about. They all seem to assume that since I get mediocre grades, I’m smart. That’s not true. Never in my life have I been in an advanced class. And one other thing: I have never ever participated in after school activity. No sports, no clubs, no nothing.

In other words, why would a college accept me, a mental freakazoid that refuses to think about the future (for I just end up crying, like I am now)? Exactly my point.

cousins family high school teen angst

Geez

Wow. Today was jam-packed with stuff. I got up at 7:30am and got ready for my grandparents’s re-wedding. I had to dress up, but I still wore pants. I ditched the braces for the day (bad idea, I later learned). Then we drove to the church. Later my cousins showed up. Ben, Drew, and Jordan have grown a lot since last year. Ben is almost taller than me now and he’s only 13. Drew is still a shrimp though. And Jordan’s still adorable. I love my cousins, they are so cute. It was their job (along with Steve), to be ushers. My job was to hand out programs, as stated in the program with “Alanna Schlitzer” underneath the “PROGRAMS” section. You’d think my own grandparents would know my last name, but nope. The ceremony was boring, I spent most of the time whispering things to Ben. It was over in an hour and we exited the church, after taking a bunch of photos. I rode with the cousins over to the reception. We had a buffet there, and cake. But we had to wait an hour until we could, so we spent that time annoying each other. First I had to receive “The Treatment”, which is 15 knuckle punches straight to a pressure point in your arm. The result is is nice bruise and a sore arm from my shoulder to my wrist. I don’t know where these kids get these ideas. Yeah, so later we ate and stuff. After the reception we drove over to Steven’s house. We went swimming (I gave many-a shoulder ride), played “the gun game” (which they made up and was completely pointless), watched the ninth episode of Teen Girl Squad, and played 6 games of Rummikub. At 11:30pm, we went home.

Because of all this activity, I have chose to remain home tomorrow instead of going to the lake with the cousins (mostly because all we do is go tubbing, and I can’t go because of my knee and ankle). But on Monday I’m going to Seabreeze with ‘em!
