okay, so at the beginning of the summer i bought my first moleskine (the other post is here), as it seems everyone and their mother on the lj organizers comm have them. i adored it at first, but certain things got to me (basically, i hated feeling compelled to make it pretty), and when school came around, i switched to a planner that i wouldn’t need to decorate if i didn’t feel like it. i’m pretty happy with it so far.

i got my first ever moleskine a few weeks ago after discovering them on the lj organizers community, and since june 30th, i’ve been having fun using it. i love it so far, despite the fact that the pages are so damn thin! oh well. i still adore all the extra space this planner has. i’m not really all that creative, but i like that each week has a blank page to go with it that i can do whatever on : )

self portrait

we’re doing self portraits in studio art 1, and mr. kunz showed us the easiest way ever to get the proportions right (which is what always messes up my drawings, that and not being able to draw), a grid! we drew grids on our photos and a grid on our paper. so i thought i’d try a smaller portrait yesterday, and instead of drawing the grid on my paper, since i planned on coloring it with colored pencils (which is the reason my skin is kinda yellowy, since i don’t have a good tan), i used my window as a light table and put a grid behind it. genius. i think it turned out nice, what do you think?
