do you ever have one of those dreams when it feels so real, that when your alarm goes off you get really confused on how you got from where you were in the dream to your bed? i had one of those last night. i dreamt liz and i were going to school, but the bus never showed up so we were standing around the bus stop for a very long time (which actually wasn’t my bus stop, it was the second bus stop on my street). suddenly two of the girls at the stop kidnapped liz and i and took them back to our house, where they locked us in liz’s room. turns out they were communists and they tried to force us to be communists too. they went away for a few minutes and i escaped and ran for my mom, who happened to be in the living room. i told her about the communists, and she said we should call the police. i was giving a statement when i woke up.

and do you know what the craziest part was? MY BUS WAS REALLY REALLY LATE TODAY BECAUSE IT BROKE DOWN. they had to send another bus, which i’d like to mention was already full of kids, so we had to sit two or three to a seat (we haven’t done that since elementary school).

last night i dreamed that i opened the chamber of secrets. except it wasn’t at hogwarts, it was at my own school. it was awesome.

i think i’m going to have to go ahead of schedule for read_hp, because i want to read book 6 at least twice before i read book 7, since i’ve only read it once (shocker, i know).

the golden compass has been made into a film! i’m so excited, the series was my favorite when i was a kid. i think i’ll reread them this week. i haven’t done it since last summer, it’s time.

i was also going to post and say how glad i am that the office and steve carell won golden globes, but we was robbed! this picture slightly makes up for it, but not really.

i had a terrible dream last night that canada and mexico no longer existed. the united states had acquired them due to some strange clause in a nafta agreement, and the number of states doubled. while this was slightly upsetting because i love canada so much, the real reason it was a terrible dream was because i could no longer sing “fifty nifty united states,” changing my life forever.

lan: uh, sure thing. *ties*
kid: thanks! this squid is going to replace roger* as my best friend. i bet you mr. squid won’t hit me with a dodgeball after we call a truce!
lan: you are probably right.

classes ended at noon today for me, so my mom brought me home early, which allowed me to take the bulgemobile to work at 2 (an hour early so i could get stuff ready for mentoring club tomorrow). so i actually went home on time today. that is unfortunately the most exciting thing that happened to me today.

but i did have a very peculiar dream. i dreamt that i was home by myself for the weekend, and after being out for awhile, i came home and checked the messages on the machine. and i had 600+ voice mails. so i sit down to listen to them all, and it turns out they were all political ads. i think the reasons for this dream were: (1) the enormous amounts of political ads on the tv and the political phone calls, and (2) the fact that every day i have to sort through my page of about 80 moderated comments to pick out the one or two real ones out of the bazillion spam ones. yes.

last night i dreamed that i owned a vespa (oh wouldn’t that be wonderful) and i rode it to school and work. it was yellow and it was amazing. but then i got pulled over because i forgot to wear a helmet, and then in the dream i had a dream that i was in an accident while riding my yellow vespa (because i wasn’t wearing a helmet), so i was in a coma in a hospital. i could still think and see, but i couldn’t move. but then in my dream i woke up out of the dream i was having, and i discovered that i still could not move, even though i wasn’t in the accident because that was in the dream-inside-a-dream.

so yeah. that was pretty cool. not the not-being-able-to-move part, the having-a-vespa part (duh).

I was in the school play and I had a speaking role. I can’t exactly remember the plot of the play, but I do remember that there was a moose and that I had the same shoes as another girl, and they were yellow. My co-star? Johnny Depp. We had to improvise the ending because something went wrong with the balloon man and he floated into the audience instead of backstage. But the play was a success and afterwards I wanted to say thanks to Mr. Depp. He was already in his trailer so I had to pound on the door for ever until he finally opened it. Then he totally pretended like he didn’t know me. And then I ran away, with my new iPod Shuffle.
