exam updates

totally schooled that physics exam (let’s pretend that using the verb “school” in an academic sense isn’t as completely lame as it really is).

tomorrow i have my theater final, which is going to be super easy. i didn’t study for either of the other two tests, and i got an 88 on both. this final is the same length as the other two tests, isn’t cumulative, and is weighted exactly the same. hooray.

friday is my calculus final. considering that my exam scores were 94, 95, and 96 (yes, in that order), i’m not too worried. math is easy.

and monday is the dreaded anthropology final. oh my god i’m not going to do well on that one. luckily it’s not cumulative. but it’s still a mad hard class (for me). we’ll see.

college 101

1. i got a 94 on my physics test! this is very very good, since i seriously got the lowest possible passing grade on my last test (69.5). my teacher drops the lowest score, so i’m trying super hard to do well on the remaining tests.

2. i’m sick, again. college has like stabbed my immune system or something, seriously. i’ve been at geneseo for two months, and i’ve been sick twice. UGH.

3. i finally met with my advisor and worked out what classes i’m taking next semester: MATH 222 (calc II), CHEM 103, PSYC 215 (for my major), INTD 203 (for my major), and MATH 140 (for my major). this should be fun. i’ve worked out my schedule would be, and my earliest class will be calc at 8:30! that’s an hour earlier than i have to get up now, ugh. but i’m done by 11:20 on TR, 1:20 on WF, and 5:30 on M (due to my chem lab). i guess it won’t be too bad. although i am taking two more credits than last semester…

wednesday

sooooo i got a 92 on my last econ test. it was the second to last test of the year, and it was the first one that i got an A on. which was very good, because it bumped my C up to a B. barely. i actually studied for the next test (which is tomorrow), and if i get a 79 or above, i’ll keep my B. hence why i studied.

we were supposed to have mentoring club today, but the middle school’s cafeteria flooded or something ridikkulus like that, so it was cancelled. and it was game day, so i was very sad. i haven’t played scrabble in so long, i’m feeling deprived. i don’t do the jumble for fun you know (that’s a lie), it’s good scrabble practice.

i should pro’ly go to bed now

sooooooo the ACT is tomorrow. i’m extremely nervous, but i know i need to stop that. i’m going to be at 10:30 because the test is at 8. i would have gone to bed earlier, but if i try to go to sleep to early, it just takes me twice as long to get to sleep because i mentally freak out.

but other than that, my day was swell. i got to drive the dentmobile to work after school, my mom left it in the parking lot for me before she left for saratoga springs with the rest of my family. and since they’re not home, i’ve rigged up 3 alarm clocks, because i tend to sleep through them.

exams freaking out high school

English Exam

I was the last person to finish my English exam today. The last one. I stayed the full 3 hours, actually I left at 2:58pm with 2 minutes to spare. I sort of messed up with the whole extra paper booklet thing. You see, the paper they give us is like a really long piece folded in half, so there are actually 4 sides. So I wrote my grammar answers on the first page of the first booklet and labeled it (1). Then I wrote my first mini essay on the first (1), second (2), and third (3) pages of the booklet. But then I wrote my second mini essay on the second booklet I had, but I didn’t mean to. So I labeled the pages (4) and (5). So then I wrote my essay on a different booklet altogether (because I thought I could fit the whole thing in one booklet). But then I used up pages (6), (7), (8), and (8) and needed more pages. So I wrote page (10) on the third page of booklet one and page (11) next to page (5) in the second booklet. Then I did (12) on the back of that booklet and by then I needed another booklet. So page (13) went on the front of the fourth booklet.

My English teacher didn’t seem very happy when I explained this all to her.

exams high school

Can live without them.

I had my chorus concert tonight. It sucked. We messed up a lot and it was really long (6:45 to 9:45).

School was about as cool as school can be.

I had my Spanish Regents oral exam yesterday. My teacher said I did well, I hope she was telling the truth. When she asked me if I was nervous I said, “Heck yes!” so we had a normal conversation for awhile about stuff (school, siblings, my hair, etc.). It worked, mostly. I was still pretty nervous though. My first situation was that I was at a party with my friend (my teacher) and I wanted her to introduce me to someone. So I asked her to talk to a “pretty boy” in the room and at the end I needed one last line and all I could come up with is, “¿Puedo tener tú número de teléfono?” which obviously means, “Can I have your phone number?” Who says that? Ugh. But it worked. And my teacher cracked up. The second situation was that I was going to a museum with my friend and we had to make plans for before. We decided to go to get something to eat and I remember I said, “Me molesta queso,” which means, “Cheese bothers me”. It lightened the mood, I know that.

Today in PE we played ultimate frisbee because too many girls picked tennis and only 28 could play. We lost horribly, but it wasn’t that bad. It was actually quite fun. We had a bunch of jock frosh on our team and they hogged the frisbee, even though I was open almost all of the time. Freshmen, can’t live with them.

I have another game tomorrow. Yikes. Two in 3 days. Bad scheduling.
