CAKE!the CAKE concert was last night! oh man, i think it was one of the best shows i’ve been to, ever. they are SO amazing live! like, maybe ever better than on their records. plus they’re in the “big five,” which is just my top five bands in no specific order (they might be giants, mc lars, atom and his package, the aquabats, and cake). i went with liz, curls, and alexa. and guess who we saw there? torch! from pinewood! with the four of us there, it was a mini pinewood reunion : ) they played some of my favorites, and of course closed with the best of the best — short skirt / long jacket! highlights included comfort eagle (”he is calling you DUDE!”), the distance, wheels, comanche, stickshifts and safetybelts, frank sinatra, guitar, love you madly, arco arena, and never there. jeez, now that i think about it, every single song was amazing. and i caught “short skirt / long jacket” on camera! sounds better in real life though. |

geocache 9just one today. my dad and i tried for three, but one’s coordinates were too off to find it, and the other one was at the bottom of the quarry, which is a bit too exciting for us. so yes, today was a good day, because i did not fall in a gorge. although it was a very pretty gorge. some may say it was a gorgeous gorge. oh my, i am very sorry about that. |

nineteeni turned nineteen today! it was a pretty good day, i have to say. today i… … got 83 emails in my inbox. holy mackerel. (it’s mostly because of facebook wall posts, lol.) … received several cute cards and gifts — i got the pens i asked for, the rubik’s cube clock i linked to, and the little mermaid III. … didn’t get any sneak hugs, thank god! … purchased season 4 of the office and season 2 of 30 rock on itunes. sixty dollar b-day gift to myself. … got cupcakes from my suitehearts <3 |

roc citytoday was spent at four of the roc city’s finest hangouts: (1) world hair. i got a haircut, obvs. (2) utter clutter. your basic thrift shop, but messier. it’s owned by a lady named sara that likes to give free stuff to you on your birthday if you make friends with her. and i do advise that you do, because she’s been known to overcharge rude people and undercharge people she likes : ) (3) aaron’s alley. a hippie shop that sells… hippie stuff. i got a new tie-dye, liz got new hemp bracelets. i actually spent most of the time on the floor looking through boxes of tie-dye and then i spent even more time refolding the shirts. someone actually thought i worked there. (4) record archive. everyone knows this is my favorite hangout of all hangouts. just this week i’ve been there twice and i’ve bought nine new albums. today they were filming their new tv commerical, and they taped liz and i singing the record archive jingle and laughing our heads off. it was a good time. TWO MORE DAYS ‘TIL GENESEO! |

POST #2536hello there! where have i been all week? let’s just say i’m a bit busier than usual, which means i also haven’t been sleeping much either so i feel like crap, but what’s new? well, on tuesday i worked the concert series show, and it was def more fun than usual. but that was because it effing poured and thundered and lightninged, and the band still played. and everyone that was watching stayed. well, they moved under the concession stand pavilion, but they could still hear from there. melissa and i were completely soaked—so soaked i couldn’t wear my pink chucks to work on wednesday. on wednesday i went to seabreeze with liz, my cousin steve, his friend trevor, my aunt marta, and my uncle tom. we went on all the cool rides (and some that were less than cool, like the new ride they put in this year—super lame). it was a pretty grand time, despite the fact that steve squished me on a ride (thanks, gravity!) and i got covered in powdered sugar thanks to trevor’s snack and steven’s idiocy. afterwards we ate at bill grays and got lost finding the interchange on the way home. and today i think i spent more time doing work things off the clock than i did on it. i got up at 6:00am to get things ready for our art project today, i stayed late to fold up tables and move heavy things to prep for our talent show tomorrow, i edited the programs to the show, i ran off 100 double-sided copies of the programs at the office, i hung out in becky’s office for a good hour, and i spent way too long folding the programs as i watched episodes of scrubs on my computer. |
