night to remember

well that was a night to remember. chronological list format to make it easier to comprehend. if you read the whole thing i’ll give you a prize.

1. megan, janine, lauren, tommi, lindsey, elly and i all piled on the bus at 5:30 — the plan was we’d take the bus to applebee’s, then walk to the movie theater to see leatherheads, and then… well, we weren’t sure how we’d get back to school. the night started off great when the bus driver “forgot” his route and we ended up looping around campus not once, but twice, on the way to applebee’s.

2. please note that the geneseo applebee’s is critically acclaimed for their record slow seating times and terrible service. when we got there, we waited for a good 45 minutes. at one point the hostess had us follow in a circle around the restaurant, then after noticing that there actually wasn’t an open table, she had us stand in a huddle in the middle of the restaurant until a table opened up… for 6 people. there are 7 of us. poor lindsey was stuck awkwardly on a barstool all night.

3. since it was raining, and the bus wasn’t coming for awhile, and megan’s friend liz had joined us halfway through the meal, we accepted the ride liz offered us in her 5 person car. yes, we fit 8 people in a 5 person car. ever fit 5 grown people in the backseat before? we have.

4. we ended up an hour early to the movie. while we bummed around the movie theater, i was approached by a woman asking if she could take a picture of me with her camera phone. turns out she had been at the restaurant at the same time as us. also turns out that there was already a picture of me on her phone. not even kidding.

5. leatherheads was so cute! not the funniest movie ever, but as everyone knows, i’m in love with john krasinski. so that instantly made the movie 500 times more enjoyable. not that it wasn’t, because, like i said, it was cute. gosh, i wish we still lived in the 20s. they dressed so awesome. geez, i’d make a terrible movie reviewer.

6. when the movie let out we realized that the bus doesn’t stop anywhere near the movie theater at night. but the schedule said it stopped at walmart at 11:10 (it was 11:10), and the movie theater is on the way back to campus. so we crossed the parking lot, ran across 20A, and waited. unfortunately, it was foggy as hell out, and we doubted the bus driver would be able to see us. by some crazy luck, the we saw the bus driving back to campus not a minute later, and all 7 us waved it down in the dark. it was amazing.

7. megan would like me to mention that “she is the best roommate ever,” and that “the whole world should know that.” fyi.

dumbledore!

dumbledore is gay. WHOA. totally didn’t see that one coming, j.k. rowling. NOT.

i’m suprised that she actually said that though. you don’t read a lot of children’s books with homosexuals in them, now do you?

now all i can think about is this episode of potter puppet pals.

ETA: this jkras spam post (it’s his birthday, you know) is MADE OF WIN.

robot babies?

today was a good end to the ol’ work week. i’m kind of nervous to ever write about work again, though, because kate (the assistant director) told me that she got yelled at for bringing us only red cards. so i’ll stick with saying that today was “halloween,” we made slime and it was really gross looking, and i almost learned how to hula hoop (but not really). i also had an “lanni can has ideas” moment when i made the schedule poster for next week. every week we (i) make a big poster with our schedule in grid-form, and it takes like a half an hour and it’s really annoying. today i cut out rectangles out of construction paper and arranged them in the shape of the grid, and then i taped them with masking tape. this way, next week i can just remove the rectangles that change (games, crafts, etc.), and leave the ones that don’t (lunch, signout, etc.) on. majorly cool.

at 5:30pm me and some other people from work went to applebee’s for dinner. it was like we were senior citizens. and do you know why we went that early? you only get the discount if you go before 6.

at 7:45pm liz and i went to the movies and saw license to wed. it was pretty hilarious, but pretty average. but looking at john krasinski for 90 minutes deff made up for the bad jokes and those terribly not funny robot babies.

i thought i’d branch out from doing only office icons… to doing jkras icons. i know, big leap, eh? i was trying to think of something that i’d really enjoy making icons for, that wasn’t the office. and since i am totally in love with john krasinski, it seemed fitting. i spent more time on each individual icon, therefore there aren’t as many as usual. anyways, enjoy!
