i voted

today i voted in my first presidential election! the line at the polls wasn’t too long, and i went with a bunch of people so i wasn’t bored waiting. it felt good to pull that lever and vote for the candidate that’s going to fix this country : )

i’m very excited to refresh this site in the future:

i also gave blood today. i’m pretty much the best american ever. i think i’m going to go give some puppies to homeless children now.

we like to rock the party

so i’ve been at FRES this week, in the same classroom as last week. it’s looking to be a long-term position. well, if a few weeks counts as being long term.

today was field day, which i vaguely recall from my elementary years as being the best friggin’ day ever. but it’s not really field “day” anymore, it’s now just field “hour and a half.” instead of each grade having an entire day to do fun stuff, all three grades do it on the same day. well whatever, it was still fun. and saying “do your work or you’ll have to sit out during field day” is a great motivation tool.

fun fact of the day:
ever wonder what continent new zealand is part of? i know i did. you see, on the 3rd grade atlas in my classroom, all the countries are colored to indicate the continent they belong to, all except new zealand. it was gray. so i asked my dad, and even he didn’t know.

the answer? it belongs to a continent called “zealandia.” turns out that there aren’t just 7 continents, there are other smaller ones too. this particular one seems very small because almost all of it is underwater. who knew?

P.S. OBAMA ‘08 FTW!

awesome possum

(1) i got my dean’s list letter on friday. so that was pretty awesome, since it’s official now and all. maybe i’ll put it on our fridge. and maybe i won’t.

(2) i also got an email inviting me to apply to the honors program. it’s very selective, but i think i’m going to give it a try. it would be way more work, but obviously going through high school not doing extra work got me nowhere, so i guess i’ll give it a shot.

(3) obama is rocking and/or rolling. very awesome.

(4) this is what i do here at geneseo when i don’t want to do work:

i put it next to the women’s bathroom (as seen here). amazing.

super tuesday

IMG_1469

guess what i did for the first time today? i voted! if you didn’t know, i’m a democrat and i support barack obama, and i despise hillary clinton. unfortunately, hillary won new york. but i suppose that was bound to happen, as she’s one of our senators and all. oh well.

going to vote was so sketch though. jamie and i went to the union to take the bus to the polls, but found out that they actually had shuttles. but the shuttles were just cars driven by students that had “ride to the polls” written on them with glass paint. so we got in the first car in the line and they asked us which location we had to go to and such. it was just super awkward because we had no idea who this boy is and he’s driving us off campus to go vote in a church somewhere. i’m glad jamie came with me, lol.

P.S. i hid alexa’s shoes in the freezer today. she looked absolutely everywhere in my room, but she never found them. muhahahaha.
