Designer For Hire

i am available for hire to design original custom websites or weblog templates, along with identity design (logos, headers).

all my codes are 100% xhtml 1.0 compliant. i do all my graphic design in photoshop elements, and i handcode in textwrangler. i usually purchase domain names at godaddy.com and site hosting from siteflip.com. wordpress is my ideal content-management system, and i have the most experience installing and implementing it. i also have experience with blogger, textpattern, livejournal, and diaryland.

depending on the complexity, costs can vary (i charge by time and effort). all costs will be determined privately. all payments will be made with paypal.

my services will include:

  • 100% valid code for xhtml and css
  • original graphic design
  • unlimited mockups
  • installation
  • tech. support
  • optional domain name purchase
  • optional site hosting purchase

if you are interested, email me at imaclanni@gmail.com. please include as many details as you can think of in the email, so that i can understand what you're looking for. i can not guarantee that i will make you a template. if i do not think that i can work with you, or your ideas, i will likely turn you down.

note to people that are looking to purchase a website and hosting: not only can i supply you with a original custom layout, i can also assist you with purchasing an affordable domain and some hosting. email me and i can tell your more about it.

hall t-shirts

turns out my class t-shirt design from last year was popular campus-wide, so when my hall council had a meeting, my name came up whilst discussing hall t-shirts. so i have made a mock-up of a potential design. i was told i should keep the general vibe of the class t-shirt, which i attempted to do. and it has tested well so far : )

the back will say: we own many leather-bound textbooks and our suites smell of rich mahogany.

class of 2011!

oh, i forgot to mention that i won my class’ t-shirt design contest a few weeks ago. the prize is a free t-shirt.

the image i based it on was saved on my desktop for a few weeks before i got the email about the contest. originally my intentions were to make it into a button for my backpack, but i thought it could work for a t-shirt too. and i apparently “won by a landslide,” according to alexa and her roommate. so all went well.

the songs to wear pants to website is finally done and launched!

this website is officially the most time-consuming project i’ve taken on. haha, actually, andrew contacted me in august and we started in september. but i really didn’t do much work until january, it was just countless mockups before that.

what i did:
- made the graphics
- made infinity mockups
- made a barebones layout mockup
- installed wordpress
- coded the template
- recoded the template
- set up the forum
- redid the graphics
- recoded the template

so it’s been a pretty crazy time. but i think it turned out well. yay!

web design awesomeness portfolio customs

so, new layout

reasons for making a new layout:
- the old one was falling apart (coding-wise)
- many plugins i wished to implement were incompatible with my previous layout
- i needed something more professional

things i like about this new layout:
- it’s simple
- it uses minimal images (loads faster)
- it works with all my plugins
- the sidebar is on top
- it uses my new favorite font, lucida grande
- the post meta info. is on the side of the entries
- the unordered link lists have cool hovers
- i was able to install threaded comments! (more on that below)

what i need from windows users:
i would really appreciate some screenshots of the site on a pc, in both firefox and internet explorer. i have absolutely no idea if the site looks okay or not, and i really want to know.

about the new commenting system:
imaclanni.com now has threaded comments! that means instead of responding to a comment at the end of the list, you can now directly reply to a specific comment by hitting “reply” at the end of said post. you can even reply to a reply. it’s really nifty, and it makes communicating easier for us all. let me know if you run into any trubs with it, i’ll help you out.

web design the site portfolio list

vote please!

(1) pink ss (2) red ss
(3) yellow ss (4) green ss

as you can tell in the screenshots, i’ve been working on a new site design since mid-october, and i finally have it the way i want it. the coding is going to be crazy since i’m going to have a lot of different kinds of positioning, but that’s not what this post is about.

i can’t decide on a color! so i’d appreciate it if you helped me out by commenting with the number of the one you like the best. thanks!

back in the ussr

this is what i have so far for my ussr/smirnoff site. any comments or suggestions? i’m having trouble with the black part. does it look too out of place? i tried it with just the yellow, and it looked awful. i tried just the black, and it was too boring. any other suggestions? keep in mind that this is a work in progress.

ETA: THE FINISHED WEBSITE! take a look and tell me if anything looks wrong on your end. comm/crit welcome!

tetris!

yesterday my mom and i went to the art show i was talking about the other day. my drawing was there, it got an honorable mention. that was pretty cool. although they did spell my first name wrong on the drawing label, and in the program. it’s two n’s, not one! anyways, check out my drawing by clicking on the thumbnail below.

youth voice, one vision

utsav, who works at the asp sometimes, and goes to my school, came to me to see if i’d do make a website for a group he is part of, called “youth voice, one vision.” so i registered the domain, got the hosting, designed and coded the template, and installed wordpress (and had some problems with it, hence it being up for a half an hour yesterday). utsav gave me a general idea of the layout, along with a logo they had. it’s purple and orange because the logo is purple and orange. what do you think?

fdvc

i forgot, i never posted much about the fdvc website. well, it’s been up and running for quite some time now. it’s the most professional site i’ve ever done, and the most involved. i threw everything i knew into this site: html, insane css, javascript, embedded videos, php forms, rollover images, css tabs, drop-down menus, et cetera. i’m very proud of being the webmaster of this site. that makes 3 sites that i update now, imaclanni.com, brighton07.com, and fdvc.us.

so anyways, check it out. check everything out. it’s cool.

ruby yacht

this is my second imageless template ever. and there’s not much to say about it, other than it’s one of my favorite templates ever. the colors i got from my livejournal. i got the title by using the first words I read after I closed my eyes and spun around my room. i read “ruby yacht” on my rocky and bullwinkle calendar (”if it’s made out of rubies then this must be the ruby yacht of omar khayyam!”). so yeah.

click the thumbnail for a full screen shot. a live preview is available here.

DOWNLOADS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
