and maps don’t help

i finally bought summer shorts today at old navy. i’ve been putting it off, but my 20% off coupon expired today, so i had to go. this kind of messed with my project-doing plan, but you know (it’s not like i didn’t see that coming). i bought two pairs of snazzy plaid shorts and a skirt for banquet (also plaid, actually).

i’d like to note that i did go to eastview mall, and i didn’t get (extremely) lost getting there and back. i took good ol’ jefferson road the whole way there, since i know i can’t get lost if i don’t have to turn at all. on the way home i thought i’d give 490 a try, and it went well until i noticed i was going past where i wanted to be, so i got off at winton rd, which is by my house, but i got off at the end near east ave. so i took winton across brighton to get home. so that was kind of pointless. my mom said i probably missed the sign for 590, which i was supposed to get on.

i’d also like to note that yes, i got lost last time i went to eastview. my mom said to take 590 north (entrance at winton rd.) until i reached 490 east. i thought i got on 590 north, but it turns out i got onto 590 south, which instead turns into 390. i noticed i was west, not east, when i reached the airport. good times. NOT.

stabby and i went shopping for ball stuff yesterday at the mall, mainly looking for shoes. stabby got some really cute ones, but i just couldn’t find any i liked. but today i found some online that i love and that match my dress/hair (aren’t they cute?) and i just ordered them, along with two bottles of atomic pink, because hot topic hasn’t had it in the store for a month, and i really need to do my roots.

i finished goblet of fire today. *sigh* all i can say is thank god july 21st is a saturday, because i’d be very tempted to skip work and lock myself in my bedroom if it wasn’t. damn it harry potter, why do you have to be so amazing?

which reminds me, i managed to convince a majority of the kids at work last thursday that harry potter was nonfiction. and i even managed to get a few of the younger ones to believe that i knew harry potter personally. and then someone drew the conclusion that i was actually nymphadora tonks, because she has famously pink hair, and she’s a metamorphmagus (look it up, you know the url for wikipedia). but i was soon outed by a 4th grader who had the second book and a vast knowledge of how to read the book info on the copyright page.

tomorrow begins another week. so yeah, that should be fun. not.

pants dance

who doesn’t have work tomorrow? lan doesn’t have work tommorrow. oh yes.

so liz and i like totally went on this huge shopping binge yesterday after mentoring club. i drove us to eastview to go to old navy, because i just thrashed two pairs of jeans and i needed some replacements. turns out it’s “spring” or something (?) and they only had like 4 pairs of pants for sale. i did buy some shorts with my gift card though, for disney. so, since we were in eastview, i thought we’d look for jeans in the mall (ugh). liz told me that i should try levi’s, because they last a long time. so we walked to the bon-ton, since liz claimed that was where we got them from. they don’t sell levi’s there. so then liz facepalms and says they actually have them at macy’s. so we booked it all the way across the mall, lengthwise. and of course they don’t have them there, leaving jcpenny’s. and of course jc penny’s is right where we came in, so we really lapped eastview mall entirely, which is quite a feat. but, i have two new pairs of levi’s, and they’re awesome.

last day of break!

liz and i saw ghost rider today, and i liked it. it’s gotten mixed reviews, but i think it’s kind of hard to make a movie that critics like, because the story revolves around a guy who’s head turns into a flaming skull. so i thought it was cool, and enjoyable. and even liz liked it. although i have a soft spot for all comic book-turned movies.

and i’ve turned into a player hater. we have banned heelys from the gym at brighton rec, because the kids constantly fall down and they’re dangerous. but i can’t help wanting my own… must. have. these. now.

i blame liz

it’s official: i will never go to the mall with liz again. i don’t think i have ever spent this much money in my life. i began with $78 in my wallet and ended the spree with 3 bucks. and i spent $75 worth of cd’s in fye, i had that much in gift cards. plus the $50 in gift cards spent at target. and the $25 worth in old navy. yeah, do the math.

never, ever again. how is it that i can go on a weekend-long trip to new york city with my best friends and spend $20, but when i go with liz i end up broke?

but the good part is that i now have 5 new cd’s—tmbg (2), the aquabats, the weakerthans, and catch 22; new earrings; new pants; a new sweatshirt; new bracelets that i plan on cutting up and making into necklaces; a new mac keyboard that was $10 off (i can finally stop complaining about my broken spacebar, which was taped together with duct tape); a $25 itunes card, and bath and body stuff.

family shoppin'

Cluttered

I found my new favorite store today over on Park Ave next to World Hair. After getting my hair cut (in which my hair tuned the unfortunate stylist’s hands purple) I found my mom in the store across the hall. I had never been in it, although I had always wanted to. We spent almost 2 hours in that little shop. It’s like the garage sale of your dreams crammed into a little room. I got those sunglasses and some other stuff (something for Dinah!). The lady that owns it (along with another lady) was really nice and since my mom goes in every time someone gets a hair cut, she’s friends with her. My mom even fixed a light for her one time so the lady let my mom choose anything out of the store and my mom couldn’t decide, so the lady brought out this awesome Chinese hat. You know, those huge pointy ones?! My mom loves it and plans on wearing it all summer. That lady is awesome. She said she would sell duct tape wallets if I made them for her. I can’t wait to go back, I could spend all day in there. I should take Kate some time, she loves stores like that. I googled it and came up with this City Newspaper link describing the store.

I HAVE TO DO MY SOPHOMORE SPEECH TOMORROW!!!
